Isolation Valve - Exercising

Anybody here care to tell us how often you'll exercise your valves?

Here's what I do. I add up all the floors in my buildings and divide it by 12. Assuming I have 36 floors, divide it by 12 and you get 3. So, I exercise 3 floors monthly on the day of monthly fire alarm testing. Its efficient and cheaper this way since the staff is already on site for the FA testing.

Our guys do it during business hours. I dont like to harass them on FA testing day. I'd rather be with the family and I think they would feel the same. But your idea is good too. How may gate valves have you broken?

They are 2 different things Sparky and its a lot of valves to exercise all at once annually. Some of them break in the closed position so they have to be repaired pronto or people wont have water. Its better to spread such expense through out the year.
